Accor and the Hungarian real estate development group Dreamland Holding have signed a partnership agreement to open two five-star hotels in Hungary in the last quarter of 2022.
With the opening of Mövenpick BalaLand Resort and FamilyPark in Szántód, the brand debuts in Hungary, while Minaro Hotel MGallery in Tokaj will be the first hotel of the brand outside Budapest. The total value of these two investments is 78 million euros.
The Minaro Hotel MGallery will feature 100 rooms and will have the potential to become a leading upscale resort in the region as well as one of the best of its class outside Budapest in Hungary thanks notably to its adjacent event centre. This highly resort focuses on couples, as well as targeting incentives and small and medium sized events. The value of the development is 28 million euros altogether.
Mövenpick BalaLand will offer a 109-rooms as a five-star hotel resort and family park in Szántód, Balaton. This is one of the first comprehensive resort development around Balaton and a part of a wider project that encompasses a unique in and outdoor waterpark and adventure park, over 5,000 sqm indoor facilities and 112 residential apartments. The value of the development is 50 million euros altogether.
Accor’s partner in the project, Dreamland Holding is a Hungarian real estate development group, focusing on resorts and related assets in the tourism sector. The group is currently developing four greenfield resort thematic developments across various key tourist destinations in Hungary. They have chosen Accor to manage their first two locations: Tokaj and Szántód.
We are delighted to cooperate with one of most prominent real estate investors in Hungary, offering the opportunity to grow Accor’s network in the countryside, strengthening our position as a hospitality leader both in Hungary and in Central and Eastern Europe. Both locations are gaining more and more international appeal: Balaton is the country’s most popular leisure destination, while Tokaj is the globally known wine region in Hungary.
Dilek Sezer, Development Director South-Eastern Europe Accor
We are pleased that our two upscale resort developments will be supported by a prestigious international brand offering the highest standard of guest experience. Accor has very strong presence in the region and elsewhere in Europe, which are the key source markets for leisure tourism outside of Budapest. We have been also impressed by Accor’s strong digital strategy, which is gaining more and more ground in the distribution.
