Shanghai hotel rebranded under Kempinski

Kempinski has gained its 18th property in China as it took over management for the Gran Meliá Hotel Shanghai, now the Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai

On May 15th, management of the Meliá Hotel Shanghai passed to management under Kempinski, becoming the Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai.Kempinski now manages 18 properties in China, two in Beijing. According to Michael Henssler, President of Kempinski China, “to be present in Shanghai with two hotels is a milestone for Kempinski in China and an important strategic step for the brand”. Another property is scheduled to open in Taiyuan later this yearThe hotel offers 678 rooms and suites, four restaurants and three bars, an executive lounge, fitness center, and spa. It is ideally located within under an hour from two international airports, Pudong and Hongqiao, in the financial center of Pudong District.
