If Lady Gaga and Beyonce's forthcoming European tour was any further proof of the gig-tripping effect, it's a brilliant one. Flight searches on the two French stops are literally soaring.
The eDreams platform has analysed the data extracted from searches made on its site for travel to Paris on 17, 18 and 19 November 2025 and Lyon on 13 and 14 November 2025 - the dates of Lady Gaga's scheduled concerts - in these major cities.
As soon as the dates of the concerts in France were announced at the end of March, the volume of searches for flights to Lyon jumped by +817% compared with the day before, and by 45% for Paris, and by +560% if we compare the period from 26 March to 1 April with the previous week!
Paris also saw a more modest increase, with 45% more searches than the previous day and 26% more than the previous week!
Beyoncé supports Paris' tourism economy
In its latest activity report, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau makes the same observation for another international star: on 18, 19 and 21 June 2025, the singer Beyoncé will be taking centre stage at the Stade de France.
And the excitement surrounding this series of concerts is already being reflected in international air bookings, which are up by +37% on Wednesday 18 June, the day before the first concert, +45% on the 19th, +25% on the 20th and +23% on Saturday 21 June. North American air bookings for 21 June recorded their biggest increase of the month, up 49%.
Major festive and sporting events are now powerful drivers in triggering a desire to travel. Revenue Managers had begun to take this phenomenon on board, but we are still surprised by its scale.
