Hilton management contract cancelled in the Maldives

Through a press release, Hilton Worldwide has announced the cancellation of its management agreement for the Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi, as of 3 May, 2013 "due to unforseen cicumstances".

Hilton Worldwide has terminated its management agreement with owners Sun Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd. for the Hilton Maldives Iru Fushi, in effect as of 3 May, 2013.As such, the property will now be run by Sun Travels. No longer part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio or Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand, the property will no longer participate in the Hilton HHonors program.The hotel group, however, remains present in the region with Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.
