Wildes Chester

The Wildes Hotel Group has pushed back the opening of its upcoming property in Chester to develop a spa and additional suite.

The opening of the Wildes Chester Hotel Boutique was initially planed for summer 2022 but the group decided to pospone the opening in 2022 in order to develop a spa and additional suite. This extra suite takes the total of guest rooms to 18. In addition, the spa and rooftop vitality pool will feature extra treatment rooms, a thermal suite with panoramic sauna, and changing pods.

To make this happen the Wildes group acquired an adjacent building in October 2021 to expand the size of the spa. This new property is resulting from the transformation of the historic site on Bridge Street, a Grade II-listed building.

The total cost of development is estimated to cost more than £5 millions. Each room will house quirky elements such as a free-standing bathtub with skylight. One of the rooms will even feature its own four-seater cinema.

The first floor will host state-of-the-art spa featuring relaxation area, nail bar and multiple treatment rooms.

The roof of the hotel will be home to the rooftop pool, jacuzzi and terrace where guests can enjoy the view across the city.

Whilst the hotel opening has been postponed until 2023, the restaurant X by Harry Guy is set to open in September this year. It is located adjacent to WILDES Chester and is spread across two floors.

We are thrilled to have been able to further develop different aspects of the hotel which we know will ‘wow’ at every level. Working with period buildings always comes with its challenges, but we are working closely with English Heritage and the Cheshire West and Chester Council planning teams to ensure that we are doing everything in our power to create a hotel offering like no other. […] Nearly four years after seeing the site for the first time, we want to make sure that we guarantee an exceptional guest experience and we are more than confident WILDES CHESTER will be worth the wait.
