Continuing the expansion of its various upscale brands, Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of seven new hotels in key Italian destinations such as Mila, Venice, Sicily and Piedmont.
The new hotels include two Radisson Collection hotels in Milan and Venice, as well as two Radisson Individuals hotels in Sicily and Piedmont, the group's latest upmarket brand. Finally, two new Radisson hotels will be opened in Ferrara and Nola, a city located about 20 km from Naples and Pompeii. A Radisson Blu hotel will also open in Florence. They are scheduled to open throughout 2021.
The new Radisson Collection hotels
The Radisson Collection brand has decided to continue its expansion in the tourist cities of Milan and Venice, which will bring the number of Radisson Collection hotels in Italy to six. This hotel brand is positioned in the upscale segment with properties located in unique places with total immersion in the local culture.
The Radisson Collection Hotel Palazzo Nani in Venice is a hotel built in the 16th century with Renaissance-inspired architecture and will open in September 2021. After an extensive restoration of the site, the hotel will offer 52 rooms and three flats, as well as a restaurant called "Zoja" and a garden in the courtyard.
After an extensive renovation, the hotel is scheduled to open at the end of August and will feature 89 rooms.
Radisson Blu moves to Florence
The Radisson Blu Hotel Florence will offer 329 rooms and suites, including a 70m² presidential suite, two restaurants, a bar that also offers food and beverage, a 25-metre outdoor swimming pool, two tennis courts and a fully equipped gym. Seminar facilities totalling 1,500m² divided into 10 modular rooms will be available to guests. These facilities will make the hotel one of the largest convention centres in Florence. The opening is scheduled for 1 December 2021.
New Radisson Individuals brand to be established in Italy
The Radisson Hotel Group's new hotel brand is making its debut in Italy in Sicily and Piedmont, with two hotel openings in partnership with the Mira Group.
The Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf Resort & Spa offers 102 rooms and suites, an 18-hole golf course, a spa, a gym and an outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
The Alagna Mountain Resort & Spa features 49 luxury suites in the traditional Walser chalet style, two restaurants, a spa with sauna, Turkish bath, heated indoor and outdoor pool and a seminar room with a maximum capacity of 80 people.
Radisson opens two new hotels in Ferrara and Nola
The two new hotels are scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2021.
The Radisson Hotel Ferrara will offer 80 rooms as well as five flats, a bar, a restaurant, a gym and three meeting rooms, after a complete renovation.
The Radisson Hotel Ferrara will be the first international branded hotel in the heart of the city of Ferrara, which welcomes more than 10 million visitors every year to its tourist sites such as the Castello Este, the Cattedrale di Ferrara, the Palazzo Schifanoia and the Palazzina Marfisa d'Este.
The Radisson Hotel Naples Nola is the only hotel on the list to be built entirely by the hotel group. It will have 75 double rooms, 70 standard rooms and five suites, as well as a restaurant adjacent to the hotel, a fitness area and three meeting rooms. Nola is a prime destination as it is located about 20 km from Naples and Pompeii and represents a strategic economic area in southern Italy.
Chema Basterrechea, Executive Vice President and COO of Radisson Hotel Group, said: "Radisson Hotel Group has a strong reputation in Italy as one of the leading international hotel groups, known for its smart, flexible and dynamic way of working. I am very proud to continue to build on our reputation in this key market. We have grown exponentially from three to almost 20 hotels in just a few years. We are extremely grateful to our local partners and see these openings as a positive signal for the recovery of the hotel industry in Italy."
