Strengthen by a year 2020 rich in hotel openings and despite the global health crisis, Radisson has not planned to stop its expansion.
Acquired by the world's second-largest hotel group Jin Jiang at the beginning of 2019, Radisson Hotel Group has been given a new lease on life. Indeed, the Chinese group's desire is to triple the overall portfolio of its new brand in the medium term. This started in 2020 with the opening of no less than 84 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region. It is now the EMEA market (Europe, Middle East, Africa) that Jin Jiang's new baby is tackling. The expansion had already started in this area with 40 hotel, resort and apartment properties signed for 2020, and 20 openings. There are now 30 openings announced for this year 2021.
The brand's main signings are Radisson RED Innsbruck in Austria, Radisson RED Cologne, Radisson Blu Resort Santorini in Greece, Radisson Blu Sheffield in the United Kingdom, Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre Johannesburg in South Africa, Radisson Residences Heidelberg in Germany, and Radisson Beach Resort The Palm in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
2020 also marked the launch of Radisson Individuals, a brand that allows local or regional chains and independent hotels to belong to Radisson's global platform, giving them significant exposure. The brand has just opened its first property in the Baltics, with the Palace Hotel Talinn in Estonia. This Radisson Inividual member hotel is the result of the renovation of an almost 100-year-old building.
Conveniently located at the entrance to the old town and less than 5 kilometers from the main train station and airport, the Palace Hotel Talinn counts 79 rooms and suites, including a 150 m2 Presidential Suite. The hotel will be equipped with a fitness room as well as an indoor swimming pool and a spa with Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and sauna. A restaurant will be open all day, offering local and international specialties, in line with Radisson's global strategy.
