Aarhus capitale européenne 2017

The Radisson Hotel Group has just established itself in Aarhus with its hotel brand RED. The Scandinavian group is one of the leaders in the five countries of the Nordic region, thanks to the Radisson RED, Radisson Blu, Radisson Collection and Park Inn by Radisson brands ‘presence.

The Radisson RED brand was launched in 2018 and represents a version geared towards the millennials to complement the other brands in the group's portfolio, while offering quality services. It targets business and leisure customers and is mainly located in dynamic cities.

Aarhus is the second city with the highest number of inhabitants in Denmark and is about three hours from Copenhagen. It has been chosen as the European Capital of Culture for 2017 and has appealed around 3.3 million tourists during this year.

The hotel has 78 rooms and suites with balconies. In addition, the lobby houses the hotel's reception, lounge and bar. The hotel also offers a catering service, Fred & Co restaurant, which combines casual dining with modern gastronomy. For instance, the menu offers dishes made with fresh ingredients from the farm. Additional services are also available in the hotel, with a 24-hour fitness centre and seminar rooms.

"Radisson RED Aarhus is the perfect spot for travelers looking for a trendy Nordic aesthetic with industrial design elements. The hotel’s design is what we call effortlessly fashionable, with a strong local focus. Radisson RED follows a relaxed, everything-goes policy with a cool service app and BYOD (bring your own device) tech for instant connectivity," explains Helene Hallre, General Manager of the Radisson RED Aarhus & Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel cluster, Aarhus.

The hotel is close to city's cultural attractions including ARos, the Central Food Market and the Musikhuset. In addition, the hotel exhibits work of art and thus attracts locals and tourists alike for a shared creative experience.

"With statement design, spacious rooms with big balconies and maximalist details in the form of bold patterns and pops of color, the first Radisson RED hotel in Scandinavia is a true multisensory experience. This is a great start for Radisson RED in the Nordic region, with new properties planned in both spectacular Reykjavik, Iceland and urban Oslo, Norway. With this reinforcement of our position as the leading international hotel group in the Nordics, we look forward to welcoming guests and introducing our Radisson RED offering to the region," comments Tom Flanagan Karttunen, Senior Area Vice President for the Radisson Hotel Group in Northern and Western Europe.

Thus, Radisson RED is expanding in the Nordics.
