NH Hotel Group has completed the rebranding of the Carlo IV Hotel in Prague, which is now part of the NH Collection.
The hotel is housed in a neo-renaissance building dating from 1895 that first housed the Czech savings and loan bank and then the post office headquarters before being transformed into a luxury hotel by Italian architects Marurizio Papiri and Adam T Tihany, when the building was extended.
Located about a ten-minute walk from downtown, the hotel features 152 rooms and suites, a lobby with a restored stucco ceiling and frescoes. Guests can enjoy coffee in the lobby, the Inn Ox restaurant serving local and European dishes, and a fitness center and spa area with sauna, steam bath and pool.
Rooms in the historic part of the hotel have high ceilings and feature antique furniture and original artwork. The hotel's Vault Bar is housed in the former bank treasury.
The property was renamed as part of an agreement to rebrand eight hotels previously operated by the Boscolo Collection.
Earlier this year, NH Hotel Group announced plans to join the Global Hotel Alliance, and the group recently announced plans to add 12 properties to its NH Collection, NH Hotels and Nhow brands this year.
