The MiM Hotels chain, owned by footballer Lionel Messi, has acquired a hotel in Sotogrande (Costa del Sol, Spain), which will also be managed by Majestic Hotel Group and will open next April.
MiM Sotogrande Club Marítimo has 45 loft-style rooms, all with views of the port of Sotogrande and the Mediterranean Sea. It also has two restaurants with terraces, a spa, a gym and a pool. The hotel was renovated in 2006 and decorated by interior designer Pascua Ortega.
The MiM Sotogrande Club Marítimo is the sixth hotel in the Lionel Messi chain and, like the other hotels, it will have the LEED label, a distinction awarded by the US Green Building Council, which regulates the state of sustainable buildings.
MIM properties are boutique hotels located in fashionable Mediterranean and ski destinations, such as Sitges, on the coast of Barcelona, the islands of Ibiza and Mallorca, as well as Baqueira Beret and the soon-to-open hotel in Andorra.
