The international hotel group has announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf - Hauptbahnhof hotel in Germany. The opening of the Kimpton Budapest is scheduled for early 2025.
With 455 rooms, the Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf - Hauptbahnhof is the largest hotel of this brand in Europe. Located on Moskauer Street, one kilometer from Düsseldorf central railway, the hotel was opened in partnership with the hotel operating company Primestar.
In addition to the bedrooms, the property offers several flexible workspaces, two fully equipped meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 18 people and a self-service business centre. IHG Hotels & Resorts has also finalized a management agreement with the property MAM BUDA PROJECT Kft. subsidiary of Market Asset Management Zrt, concerning the opening of the first hotel Kimpton in Hungary. The Kimpton Budapest Hotel will be located on the historic Jozsef Bem Square in Budapest’s city center. It will feature 127 rooms, several restaurants and a rooftop bar.
IHG Hotels & Resorts currently has three hotels in Hungary, operating under the brands InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, also in Budapest, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts. Two other hotels of the same group are also currently under project.
More generally, these present and future openings, confirm IHG Hotels & Resorts’s development strategy in Europe. The opening of the Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf - Hauptbahnhof hotel follows those of the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City West hotels in the United Kingdom, Holiday Inn Express Fulda, in Germany, Holiday Inn Express Nice - Grand Arenas, in France and Holiday Inn Express Lustenau, Austria.
The brand currently lists 283 hotels with more than 36,000 rooms in Europe and 60 additional hotels are in the pipeline. The lifestyle brand Kimpton lists 7 hotels in Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona, London and Edinburgh. 4 other hotels are also in the pipeline, notably in Mallorca and Frankfurt.
