The IHG Group has signed its first luxury hotel in Mallorca, under the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand. The hotel should open by 2022.
With a capacity of 79 rooms, the Kimpton Mallorca will be located next to one of the most famous golf courses on the island, Santa Ponsa Golf, on the site of the current Santa Ponsa Country Club. The site will undergo major renovation and expansion, with the backdrop of the hills and wooded fairways that crisscross the southwest of the island. The hotel will be located less than 30 minutes from Palma de Mallorca airport.
The hotel will offer two outdoor swimming pools, one with direct access to the beach, an indoor pool, tennis courts, a yoga studio and a spa with 16 treatment rooms. The MICE offer will also be guaranteed thanks to more than 300 m² of multifunctional meeting space.
Karin Sheppard, Managing Director Europe at IHG, said :

We already have a strong presence in both the mainstream and upscale segments and are now delighted to be expanding our presence in the luxury space, too. This signing once again shows the strength of our brands and the confidence that owners and investors have in IHG.”
Following the recent announcements of Six Senses Rome, Six Senses Antognolla and InterContinental Rome, Kimpton Mallorca is the latest addition to IHG's growing luxury portfolio in Europe.
