In Düsseldorf, The Wellem Hotel changes its brand and becomes the first property of the Unbound by Hyatt collection in Germany and the seventh in Europe.
The Wellem Hotel is located in the historic district of Andreas, close to the famous shopping boulevard Königsallee and the Rhine. Formerly a courthouse, then a hotel operated under the Hyatt House brand, today it remains within the Hyatt Group but is now part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, becoming the seventh property of this independent collection in Europe and the first in Germany. The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is distinguished from other Hyatt brands by the strong identity of each hotel, all of which are unique, aimed at customers looking for high but non-standardised service. European properties include the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, the Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest and the Great Scotland Yard Hotel in London. According to the Managing Director of The Wellem Till Westheuser :
The hotel offers the ideal playground for guests with an individual spirit and we want them to create their own historically worthy experiences in Germany's first hotel within the brand portfolio The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
In the spirit of Jan Wellem, who, together with his wife Anna Maria Luisa from the House of Medici, has had a considerable impact on the artistic culture of Düsseldorf, the hotel The Wellem exhibits a large collection of contemporary art in the common areas as well as in the rooms. Guests have access to the hotel's exclusive private art concierge, who can introduce guests to the masterpieces on display in the property and also offers tours to nearby museums and art galleries. Till Westheuser says :
As a nod to the art on display at the property, The Wellem's mission is to celebrate the individuality of each guest entering our doors.
The hotel's 102 studios and suites offer easy communication with the front desk using state-of-the-art devices such as Bluetooth speakers and SuitePads. The Wellem Hotel has a terrace, to which the suites on the fifth floor have access, as well as three restaurants offering German and Mediterranean cuisine.
To celebrate the rebranding, the hotel is offering World of Hyatt members the opportunity to earn 500 bonus points for nights registered at The Wellem between November 10, 2020 and January 31, 2021.
