Accor expands its presence in the Philippines with the Sofitel Cebu City due to open in 2025

Located on the Philippine Island of Cebu, the 195-room luxury hotel will be located within the business park of the island's main city and adds to the important pipeline of projects undertaken by the Accor group throughout the country.

The Sofitel Cebu City will include two restaurants and a rooftop, a business centre, a fitness area, a swimming pool and a spa, as well as meeting rooms and ballrooms. The hotel will occupy floors 14 to 32 of the future Masters Tower Cebu, a mixed-use tower designed by the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architectural firm, which is scheduled for completion in 2025 and will also provide office and retail space.

"We are extremely pleased to expand our presence in Cebu with the signing of the Sofitel Cebu City. The commitment of our partners to a long-term partnership with Accor in these challenging times demonstrates their confidence in our group, the popularity of our brands in different segments, our reputation for operational excellence and our relationship-based approach and flexibility towards owners and investors," said Garth Simmons, Accor's Managing Director, South East Asia, Japan and South Korea.

Jose Soberano III, CEO of Cebu Landmasters, said:

"We believe that Cebu is a destination with enormous potential. The Sofitel Cebu City will enable us to offer business and leisure travellers a luxury package in the central business district of this thriving port capital. We are convinced that the hotel's excellent range of entertainment and business offerings will make Sofitel Cebu City a centre of hospitality in this key destination. We are very pleased and proud to be able to partner with Accor, a leading and renowned hotel operator, for this exciting project. We remain confident in the longevity of the tourism industry and its future success as the world returns to travel after this difficult period".

Accor is one of the leading international operators in the Philippines, with seven hotels in three regions and 17 projects underway in the country. Sofitel Cebu City joins a portfolio of more than 120 Sofitel hotels around the world.
