The 115 rooms and suites are to open in 2025 near the Cape Spartel Reserve.
The resort is the result of a partnership with Star Hill Tanger SA. The property will be located close to Tanger in a location where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean are joining: the Cape Spartel Reserve.
The hotel will feature 115 keys among which 21 villas with private pools. It will also offer a spa venue and 5 restaurants. Corporate guests are also targeted, with meeting spaces and boardrooms.
“Introducing Waldorf Astoria to Morocco in partnership with Star Hill is an exciting move for Hilton, and we are pleased to debut this iconic brand in Tanger, a stylish destination which is witnessing rapid development,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hilton.
Mr. Zaid Ali from Star Hill Tanger said, “Signing this agreement with Hilton represents our ambition to partner with renowned global hospitality partners that provide world-class service standards, on par with our company’s value of excellence. Bringing the luxurious Waldorf Astoria brand to Tanger is a step we are proud of because it supports the development of the tourism sector in Morocco and the city of Tanger.”
The group is making moves into leisure tourism as its competitors. It currently operates four hotels in Morocco and announces a pipeline of 7 hotels in the country. The Conrad Rabat Arzana and the Hilton Taghazout Bay Beach Resort & Spa are to open in 2022.
