InterGlobe Enterprises, the Indian conglomerate with interests in aviation and hospitality, is entering the European hotel market with its new lifestyle hotel brand, Miiro. The brand, inspired by the Latin word 'miro', meaning 'I wonder', will debut in Paris and Barcelona in summer 2024, followed by London and Vienna a year later.
The strategy is twofold: expansion in Europe and the creation of a collection of hotels.
Miiro's inaugural hotel, Le Grand Hôtel Cayré, is due to open in Paris in summer 2024. Located in the historic Hôtel Cayré, a residence that once housed Parisian artists, writers and intellectuals, the hotel will feature 123 rooms, a classic French brasserie and a bar.
The second property, Hotel Borneta in Barcelona, is also due to open in summer 2024. Nestled in the lively El Born district, the hotel will offer 92 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a rooftop.
In early 2025, Miiro plans to unveil Templeton Garden in London. This 156-room hotel will feature a restaurant, bar, café-meets-deli and garden. In the same year, a property is due to open in Vienna.
More than 58,000 professionals are employed by the company in 28 countries and 120 cities around the world. Each site contributes to the economic vitality of its region by recruiting around a hundred people.
“We can’t wait to open the doors in Paris, Barcelona and London over the next year or so, and to continue growing the Miiro brand as we target further expansion in Europe’s most interesting city centre neighbourhoods.
“At InterGlobe we have a proven track record of identifying market opportunities and setting new benchmarks for industries, and Miiro will be no different. We believe there is a better way to travel that is more thoughtful and personal, and through creating Brilliantly Considered Stays that bring Miiro guests closer to the local culture, we can take the hospitality experience to a new level”. - Neena Gupta, CEO of Miiro and executive director of group strategy and international hospitality at InterGlobe Enterprises
