Accor continues to develop its ibis brand in the German market in collaboration with the hotel operator Tristar Group as a franchise partner.
As part of its European expansion strategy, Accor is to open an ibis and an ibis budget hotel at Berlin-Brandenburg airport.
The contract signed in early December is for a new construction project that will complement the Berlin hospital market from 2025 with a total of 228 rooms. Both hotels will be designed according to the brand's latest concepts, including the ibis family's rejuvenated approach to design.
With a total of 228 rooms, the announced ibis combination at the Grünbergallee S-Bahn station will expand the hotels' offering at the new Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. The ibis and its sister hotel ibis budget will each have 114 rooms. The hotel will be managed by the hotel operator Tristar Group.
With the signing of this contract, Accor and tristar are expanding their existing partnership, which currently includes four joint hotels and other projects under development, including the Wien Nord greeting, which will open in the first quarter of 2023.
Thanks to its broad portfolio, but also to the strategic direction it has followed in recent years, our ibis brand remains one of our strongest brands in the economy segment and is highly valued by our guests. We are therefore very pleased to announce two hotels in the ibis family of brands together with tristar. With their location and design, these properties will fill a gap in the tourism offering at Berlin Brandenburg Airport and contribute to the successful development of the airport's infrastructure.
Yannick Wagner, Vice President Development Northern Europe
We are very pleased to bring both ibis brands to BER Airport and its dynamic environment. The signing of the contract for this dual project underlines the already successful collaboration with Accor and the mutual trust.
