Standard International is embarking on an expansion in Europe, announcing the forthcoming opening of three new hotels. This strategic move is part of the company's expansion plans, which include introducing its extended-stay concept to the European market.
Following the openings of The Standard in London (2019) and The Standard in Ibiza (2022), the lifestyle hotel brand is preparing to establish its presence in Brussels, Lisbon and Dublin.
The Standard, Brussels
Scheduled to welcome guests in the first half of 2025, The Standard, Brussels will be located as part of the ZIN redevelopment project in the northern district of Brussels. Adopting a circular building plan and a commitment to sustainable practices, the hotel will be housed in the converted World Trade Centre.
Featuring 200 rooms, including 20 extended-stay units, The Standard, Brussels will be inspired by the adjacent botanical garden. The ground floor will feature a restaurant and bar, while the 29th floor will offer a rooftop garden and brasserie with panoramic views.
The Standard's in-house team, led by Verena Haller, is working in collaboration with Belgian architecture and design firms Jaspers-Eyers Architects and Bernard Dubois Architects.
The Standard, Lisbon
Scheduled to open in late 2025, The Standard, Lisbon will offer 172 rooms and introduce new branded residences. Nestled in Lisbon's historic Alfama district, the hotel will occupy a former naval hospital, now transformed into a mixed-use complex.
Guests will enjoy a café overlooking the Campo de Santa Clara, a lounge in the former pharmacy and a branded restaurant. The hotel also boasts an outdoor swimming pool, a rooftop cocktail bar with panoramic sea views and a spa.
Overseeing the restoration of the building, STC Arquitetura ensures that The Standard, Lisbon captures the essence of its historic surroundings. The creative vision for the hotel is led by designer Jaime Hayon of Hayon Studio.
The Standard, Dublin
Located in Dublin Arch (formerly Connelly Corner), The Standard hotel in Dublin will have 200 bedrooms. Part of a mixed-use residential and commercial development, the hotel will be located in one of Ireland's most connected shopping centres.
