The Spanish group Smart Rooms plans to open its third hotel Yurbban in Palma de Mallorca in 2021. It also has just opened a 400 rooms-condominium in Bogota.
The 4-star hotel Yurbban Palma de Mallorca will be the third hotel of the Yurbban portfolio after the opening of the Yurbban Trafalgar Barcelona, in 2015, and of the Yurbban Passage Hotel & Spa Barcelona, in 2018. This new property represents an investment of 12 million euros.
The Spanish Group Smart Rooms is located in Barcelona. Founded in 2012, it brings together two family offices and the Catalan hotelier Oriol Serra, CEO of the company. Currently, the firm manages a total of 900 rooms and its strategic plan aims at exceeding 2,000 over the next four years. Last year, Smart Rooms Company achieved a turnover of just over 10 million euros. It plans to open new hotels, in urban destinations, in Spain and Portugal in the coming years.
Smart Rooms also continues its development in Colombia with the opening of a 400-rooms condominium in Bogota. It thus enters the segment of long-term apart hotel and co-living, with the launch of its new brand The Spot. The Condominium in Bogota will host young professionals and students as well as the 106-rooms Spotty hostel. The project involved a global investment of 20 million euros.
Another The Spot apart hotel is scheduled to open in 2021, in the university city of Chia, with 234 apartments. The company also operates the UMA Suites brand, with two tourist apartment buildings in Barcelona and another in Madrid.
