Six Senses Comino

Located on two bays on a little-known Maltese island, Six Senses Comino will offer a themed resort and spa, farm-to-table cuisine and a range of cultural, leisure, wellness, retreat and sports activities.

Comino is a small island, classified as a Natura 2000 site. Six Senses Comino will be located on the shores of San Niklaw and San Marija Bays.

Designed by Belvedere Architecture, the 71 low-rise suites overlook the bay and offer views of the Mediterranean Sea from their private terraces. Full-height openings and terraces blur the boundaries between outdoor and indoor space. Six Senses Comino will feature infinity pools, a restaurant, two bars and a 1,000-square-foot spa that will offer locally inspired treatments.

"Six Senses Comino is an invitation for guests who understand and appreciate the value of preservation and seek serenity. We are doing something unique in the Maltese hotel landscape, namely creating a lavish and sustainable resort on a small footprint to make way for new trees and shrubs and, as a result, a thriving environment for new guests and returning wildlife." - Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses.

A collection of 19 stand-alone retreats offering two to four rooms will be scattered along the east-facing coastline, with green roofs and terraces to follow the natural terrain. Each will have a large garden and a secluded central courtyard with a private pool. Enjoying access to all the facilities of the San Niklaw resort, the retreats will also be served by a separate clubhouse with a restaurant and piazza overlooking Santa Marija Bay.

The investors, HV Hospitality, a subsidiary of Hili Ventures, set out to meet all aspects of the Natura 2000 management plan through a sensitive and sustainable design strategy.

"Six Senses, one of the world's leading hotel brands in sustainable tourism, is the perfect partner for this new property and for Comino. HV Hospitality has invested heavily in crafting a conscientious vision for the property, and we are thrilled to turn its management over to Six Senses upon completion. The brand has a history of weaving long-term positive change into the fabric of each property, and we look forward to helping them deliver on that promise, especially since we share the same goal - impact for good." - Melo Hili, CEO of Hili Ventures
