Three new hotels will bring Radisson RED’s portfolio to 23 properties of which 6 are currently operational, 6 are to open by the end of 2019, and 11 are in the pipeline to open by the end of 2023.
Radisson Hospitality AB, part of Radisson Hotel Group, has announced the signing of three brand-new hotels under its Radisson RED brand as part of a strategic franchised partnership with developer and operator Value One Hotel Operations. The brand will thus make its debut in Portugal, with the Radisson RED Lisbon Olaias and the Radisson RED Porto (both to open in 2021) – followed by a second Radisson RED in Vienna slated for 2023.
In 2016, Carlson Rezidor had set a goal to reach a portfolio of 60 Radisson Red hotels worldwide by the year 2020, half of which were to be in the Asia-Pacific region. When the first Radisson RED opened in Brussels in 2016, 14 other properties were under development worldwide.
Today, the agreement with Value One Hotel Operations to open three new hotels sees Radisson RED’s portfolio slated to grow to 23 properties with more than 4,500 rooms in operation or under development by 2023.
Six hotels are currently operational In Europe (Brussels and Glasgow), the United States (Minneapolis, Minn. and Portland, Oregon), and South America (outside São Paulo, Brazil and in Lima, Peru).
The end of 2019 should see a total of 12 hotels operational as the following properties are forecast to open in the next few months: in the Miraflores District of Lima (Peru), Old Town in Tbilisi (Georgia), Krakow (Poland), Dubai, Miami Airport, and Aarhus (Denmark). Also in the pipeline to open by end 2023 are 11 properties in Plano (Texas), Liverpool, Reykjavik (Iceland), Greenwich (London), Oslo, Miami Brickell, Vienna, Lisbon, Porto, Warsaw and finally a second property in Vienna.
