[In pictures] Iconic House opens a new address in Courchevel

Iconic House opens the doors to the third property in its collection of luxury accommodation, the Chalet Le 1550, located in Courchevel.

Following the acquisition of three properties in 2021 to launch its collection, and the successive openings in 2022 of L'Étoile des Baux in Les Baux-de-Provence and Les Bords du Lac in Hossegor, Iconic House is unveiling Le 1550, an iconic alpine chalet located in the heights of Courchevel.

Le 1550 is located close to the slopes, in the heart of the world's largest ski area, the Three Valleys, in the unspoilt hamlet of Les Brigues in Courchevel 1550. Built on three levels, it faces the Dent du Villard and the peaks of the Vanoise.

We made the deliberate choice of Courchevel 1550, the authentic family heart of the resort, much closer to what we like and to the Iconic House philosophy, against the bling of Courchevel 1850. This choice reflects our vision of authentic and uninhibited luxury.

The aesthetic of the chalet refers to modernist architecture as well as the work of Charlotte Perriand, proposing "a unique interpretation of the Art of living in the mountains", while the interior design, conceived by Joséphine Fossey, combines vintage pieces and made-to-measure furniture with the omnipresence of wood.

It was essential for this new place to retain what makes the Iconic House Collection strong today: the search for the rare good, exceptional facilities, singularity, asperities, and a central place given to local art and crafts. We have drawn the thread of the Hors-Piste, in reference to our love of adventure and wide open spaces, associated with this desire to take a step aside.

After 9 months of work and the construction of an extension, the Chalet has 8 comfortable en-suite rooms, each with its own identity, including 1 family suite and 3 semi-subterranean dens whose openings offer a breathtaking view of the mountain.

The offer is completed by a professional kitchen, a large living room presented as the main room of the chalet, an outdoor terrace, a sports & wellness area, a playroom called Kids Paradise, a ski room, a library, a room with a giant screen and a grocery shop.

Chalet Le 1550 is home to a collection of quirky and curious works of art created by the Joséphine Fossey Office studio with references to the mountains, as well as photographs, vintage postcards and posters featuring the Alps.
