The young Destination by Hyatt brand is making its UK debut with the opening of its first property in Scotland in the Scottish Borders.
A Hyatt subsidiary has signed a franchise agreement with the 12.18 Group for the SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course. A luxury estate set in the Scottish countryside that demonstrates Hyatt's ambition to expand through its new Destination by Hyatt brand.
The country estate has a long and rich history dating back to the 12th century and was once owned by the Duke of Roxburghe. The estate and grounds will be transformed into a luxury resort with the addition of 58 rooms and suites and 12 cottages. Once the first phase of work is completed by the end of 2022, a further 49 cottages will be added successively by 2024.
The rooms and suites are divided into three areas:
- The historic main house with 20 rooms and suites
- The Estate House with 58 rooms and suites
- The Cottages area with a total of 61 cottages
The property will also include two restaurants, three bars and two lounges offering local products. There will also be a 600 sqm spa with two saunas and an outdoor pool, as well as an event space with four 157 sqm meeting rooms.
The SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course, in keeping with the spirit of the Destination by Hyatt brand, reflects traditional Scottish hospitality with open fires and a design featuring the Duke of Roxburghe's original tartan.
The SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course is an exciting step in the growth of the Destination by Hyatt portfolio in the region. Our latest collaboration with the 12.18. Group is a testament to the value Hyatt places on cultivating meaningful and strategic relationships with owners to create luxury hotels and resorts in sought-after destinations that matter to our guests and World of Hyatt members. The desire for luxury travel remains unwavering, and this project is designed to meet the needs of both international and local luxury travellers in one of the most exquisite locations in the country.
