The Iberostar Group has brought its Caribbean All-Inclusive resort concept to Europe for the first time in Majorca, with the opening of a beachfront resort.

Sustainability and decarbonization:

The complex is the result of the complete transformation of two of the company's iconic hotels in Alcudia Bay: Iberostar Selection Albufera Park and Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa. The renovation transforms the two hotels into a pioneering sustainable resort in Spain, whose décor is inspired by the flora and fauna of the Albufera natural park, and which offers a high environmental value thanks to its privileged location.

In line with Iberostar's sustainability objectives, the hotel has taken steps towards decarbonization. The installation of solar panels on the roofs harnesses renewable energy sources, reducing CO2 emissions and contributing to a cleaner environment. In addition, the hotel's commitment to sustainability is demonstrated by the choice of eco-friendly materials for the renovation, as well as the incorporation of an innovative artificial intelligence-based food control system to minimize waste.

The Mediterranean experience:

The complete renovation of the Iberostar Selection Albufera has enhanced its 600 rooms and transformed the communal and leisure areas into welcoming spaces reflecting the essence of the Mediterranean. The resort's design, conceived by Iberostar's in-house team, draws inspiration from the surrounding marine and floral elements, using warm tones and Mediterranean textiles to create a welcoming ambience.

Dishes and responsible cuisine:

At the heart of the resort's transformation is a new culinary experience that combines variety, health and sustainability. The resort prides itself on sourcing quality produce from local suppliers and offering a range of responsibly sourced seafood. The resort offers a variety of restaurants: Kyknos, the Greek restaurant; Nopal, the Mexican restaurant; Martinete, the Spanish restaurant; and Óliba, the Mediterranean-themed bar, as well as a cafeteria, Star Café and an ice cream parlour, IceDream.

Facilities and experiences:

The resort has seven swimming pools, and families will find Iberostar Selection Albufera Park, which offers specially designed rooms for adults and children, as well as areas such as Star Camp and a splash pool. The Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa offers exclusive access to a swimming pool, a rooftop terrace overlooking the beach and a quiet adults-only environment in the Star Prestige category.
