In the heart of Tel Aviv's Old City, in the picturesque Neve Tsedekneighbourhood, Elkonin Tel Aviv Hotel – Mgallery has just opened its doors, marking the expansion of the brand on new markets.
Bringing back to life the first ever hotel in the Israeli metropolis, created in 1913 by Malka and Menahem Elkonin, Elkonin Hotel MGallery is also a place of historical significance as illustrious guests like Albert Einstein and David Ben-Gurion have resided there.
The property was then acquired by Dominique Romano in 2004, a Franco-Israeli entrepreneur who has given the place a new lease on life. He was assisted by the architect Gidi Bar Orian and the interior designer Adriana Schor.
Designed as a boutique hotel with 44 rooms including 2 suites, Elkonin Hotel MGallery offers unique service and amenities, such as Époque, the first Robuchon restaurant in Israel, as well as a Clarins spa, which is also a first in the country, and finally a rooftop.
The historic building in which Elkonin Hotel MGallery was built has been meticulously restored. The interior designer wished to preserve the architectural modeling typical of the eclectic style in vogue in Tel Aviv at the beginning of the 20th century.
