The leading Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International announced the opening of an INNSiDE hotel in Newcastle in December 2020.
The announcement of the opening of a hotel under the INNSiDE banner in Newcastle is part of the dynamic development of the INNSiDE by Meliá brand, which already has 28 properties in 10 countries and plans to open 13 more in the coming years, notably in the cities of Liverpool and Lisbon. The new hotel will be located on a historic dock on the banks of the River Tyne, from which the hotel will have an unobstructed view. INNSiDE Newcastle will be just minutes away from Newcastle International Airport and will be close to the metro and major road and rail links, as well as Newcastle's vibrant city center.
From 14 December 2020, when INNSiDE Newcastle opens, guests will be able to enjoy a 161-room hotel with free refreshments, minibar and Chromecast system available in all rooms. Designed by Faulknerbrowns Architects, the hotel is in keeping with the spirit of the INNSiDE by Meliá brand, which aims to combine work, leisure and well-being with a sustainable philosophy: paper and plastic for single use has been eliminated throughout the property and the sheets and towels in the rooms will be 100% ecological.
The highlights of INNSiDE Newcastle will be its restaurant and outdoor terrace with a direct view of the River Tyne, as well as its meeting rooms and state-of-the-art fitness room. Regarding the meeting rooms, the hotel will offer packages and facilities designed especially for business travelers such as the Workcation package as well as discounted rates for Meliá PRO members (starting at £25 per person for half a day, including lunch). The event space, which opens onto the hotel lounge, will be divided into five meeting areas with a capacity of 170 people. One of the rooms, Big Ideas Space, is a complete meeting space with sofas and armchairs, smart screens and playful objects. In addition, the property's largest meeting area, The Keelmen Suite, can be divided into three rooms.
The fitness room, open 24 hours a day, will be equipped with Technogym equipment and will offer a unique e-fit concept with virtual personal training on demand. Finally, guests will be able to enjoy themselves in the hotel's lobby, which will serve food during the day and host DJ sets in the evening.
