One Sheraton and one Marriott have just opened both in Frankfurt Airport, where Marriott International now has five properties including Moxy Frankfurt Airport, Moxy Frankfurt Airport Kelsterbach and Element Frankfurt Airport.
This new opening follows the transformation of the 1,008-room Sheraton Hotel, based in Frankfurt Airport, into two connected hotels : a 779-room Sheraton hotel and a 233-room Marriott hotel. All rooms were refurbished and the design of both hotels were handled by Hamburg-based JOI-Design.
The two hotels have shared amenities such as the two restaurants and two bars. Also, the lobby and the Conference Center, offering 57 meeting spaces across 4,148 square metres, were fully renovated, with a further renovation expected to be completed by 2022. The amenities will soon feature a Sheraton Club Lounge.
The design focuses on Frankfurt’s history of literature, with references of the printing industry and the famous Frankfurt Book Fair. Quotations, a reading-style sofa and a whole library in the lobby refer to the pleasure of reading and “promote creativity and productivity”, as an official statement says.
“I am delighted that we can leverage the synergies and appeal of these two popular brands to offer our guests more choice and flexibility,” said John Licence, VP Premium & Select Brands Europe, Marriott International. “Both brands are transforming the guest experience in their own unique way, meaning we will be able to offer the best of both at Germany’s largest aviation hub and a key business destination.”
Marriott International has 568 hotels across Europe as of 1 January 2020, with 104 826 hotel rooms, increased by + 8,6%, placing it at the 4th place of Hospitality ON ranking (Hospitality ON data).
