Ennismore, the lifestyle hotel company, announces its latest signing with Mama Shelter Medellín, which will be the brand's first property to open in Colombia.
Scheduled to open in 2026, the Mama Shelter Medellín will be located in the heart of the El Poblado neighbourhood. It will feature 150 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, more than 3,000 m² of coworking space, 500 m² of meeting rooms, a swimming pool on the first floor terrace and a special rooftop.
The new Mama Shelter will be located within a mixed-use project in Medellín, which includes retail, office and coworking space. Medellín is also known for its nightlife, with a wide range of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
The project, with an estimated investment of USD 30 million, will be developed by the DALVAL INVERSIONES fund, a Colombian property manager which, together with Skema Promotora and Macca, is capitalising on the talent and experience of local companies to develop the project.
We are very excited to bring Mama Shelter to a city as energetic and iconic as Medellín. It offers both international travellers and local communities a place to stay, eat and be entertained, and we look forward to opening our doors and offering the unique experience we are known for.
Cedric Gobilliard, Chief Operating Officer of the Mama Shelter brand at Ennismore
It is interesting for Accor to see the momentum of investments in innovative and unique projects that contribute to the consolidation of Medellín as a lifestyle and entertainment destination for tourists and locals, with a brand full of surprises and originality.
Luis Mirabelli, Vice President of Development for Hispanic Countries, Accor South America
In addition, Medellín was recently recognised in the annual list published by Time Out magazine as the third best city in the world in 2022, thanks to its climate, the warmth of its people, its landscape and technological innovation.
