The luxury brand Mandarin Oriental debutes in Vienna in 2023

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced its project to open a hotel and residence in Vienna, Austria, in late 2023.

The project, which includes 151 rooms and 17 apartments will be housed in a heritage building which originally served as the city's commercial law court from 1912 to 2003. The Mandarin Oriental Vienna will be located on a street in the District One, in the Ringstrasse. It will benefit from a proximity to the main attractions of the city, such as St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Imperial Palace, the Vienna State Opera and many bars and restaurants.

"We look forward to extending the Group's presence into one of Europe's most popular destinations for art, music and culture and introducing the city to Mandarin Oriental's exemplary quality of service," said James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental. "This iconic redevelopment of a historic building in a prime location, will offer guests a truly memorable experience, and fits ideally within the Group's increasing portfolio of central European hotels." he added.

The conversion of the property is already underway, and the restoration will preserve many of the building's original design elements. The hotel with offer 151 rooms and suites surrounding a courtyard in the center of the property,

It will offer all the facilities that a luxury hotel implies, such as a restaurant, a bar, a Spa, which will integrate treatment rooms, a swimming pool and a fitness center, and an outdoor garden. The complex will also welcome private and business events thanks to banqueting and meeting spaces.

The 17 apartments of the future Mandarin Oriental residence will be located on the top two floors of the building and will have private access to the roof. Some of them will benefit from outdoor terrace and panoramic view of the city.

The project is owned by Brisen Group, based in Geneva and operating in real estate investment and wealth management sectors in Europe. London designers, Goddard Littlefair, are in charge to create the hotel and residences interiors.
