IHG Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in the UK with the signing of the first Garner Hotel in Scotland, located in Edinburgh. Set to open in late 2025, this new addition will strengthen IHG's growing presence in this booming destination.
Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh to launch in 2025
The 195-room Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh will mark the debut of the Garner Hotels brand in Scotland. Situated directly opposite Haymarket Station, the hotel offers convenient access for both business and leisure travelers, making it a strategic choice for visitors.
Garner Hotels, launched in 2023 as IHG’s midscale conversion brand, focuses on providing reliable and affordable stays with essential comforts. With this in mind, the Edinburgh property will feature modern amenities, including a Bar/To Go café offering snacks and breakfast.
Social responsibility and community engagement
As part of IHG’s ongoing social responsibility initiatives, Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh will contribute to the fight against hunger through a partnership with Action Against Hunger. For a limited time, the hotel will donate £1 for each guest stay. This initiative is aligned with IHG's broader partnership to combat food insecurity worldwide.
Additionally, the property has partnered with local organizations such as the City of Edinburgh Council and Bethany Trust to provide temporary accommodation during the pandemic.
A growing portfolio in Europe and beyond
Garner Hotels is rapidly expanding across Europe, with a growing number of properties both open and in development. Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh joins an expanding network of 61 open and pipeline hotels across Europe, including locations in the UK, Italy, Turkey, and the DACH region.
"Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh perfectly exemplifies how our conversion brands are thriving, and with its central location and individual design, I’m confident that the hotel will become a flagship Garner Hotels property in Europe." - Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development, Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts

Also, this new addition come just a few weeks after the group announced the debut of this brand on the UK market with the opening of Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury in England.
