Gleneagles Townhouse has officially opened its doors in Edinburgh, exclusively to members and hotel guests, marking the first venture beyond the Perthshire hills for The Gleneagles Hotel.
Over the last five years, Ennismore Design Studio has restored this 100-year listed building, creating 33 rooms, some of which overlook St Andrew Square. At the heart of the hotel lies The Spence, a social space offering modern style brasserie-dining which serves breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
Managed by Head Chef Jonny Wright, who returns to his native Scotland with over 16 years’ experience, the restaurant will serve dishes made of organic and locally sourced products.
Within the space, a central bar sits beneath a glass-domed ceiling, offering a seasonally rotating, locally inspired list of drinks curated by Bar Manager Stefanie Anderson.
Down in the bank’s former vault, guests and members have access to The Strong Rooms, a dedicated training, treatments, and therapies area. Combining holistic wellness and innovative technologies, guests can enjoy a cryotherapy chamber and infrared sauna, alongside the gym and wellness studios.
The Members’ Club meanwhile features two exclusive spaces: the Note Burning Room for meetings and The Telling Rooms for co-working. The roof terrace bar, Lamplighters, will also open exclusively to members and hotel guests, offering views of the city’s medieval Old Town, but also New Town.
