IHG Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with NOVUM Hospitality, has launched three Garner hotels in Germany, marking the arrival of this new midscale brand in Europe. The newly opened hotels are the Garner Hotel Hamburg Nord, the Garner Hotel Elmshorn, and the Garner Hotel Augsburg Nord, all opened within ten days.
The three newly opened Garner hotels in Germany total 307 rooms:
- Garner Hotel Hamburg Nord, located in the northeast of Hamburg, has 100 rooms and is close to shopping areas and restaurants.
- Garner Hotel Elmshorn, with 75 rooms, is located near the Elmshorn business park.
- Garner Hotel Augsburg Nord has 132 rooms and enjoys a strategic location in Augsburg.
These new hotels result from a conversion agreement between IHG and NOVUM Hospitality, transforming former Yggotel, Select Hotels, and Novum Hotels brands into properties under the Garner name. This collaboration between IHG and NOVUM plans to open more than 50 Garner hotels in Germany in the coming years, with expansion projects also including hotels under the Holiday Inn and Candlewood Suites brands. The Garner brand, developed by IHG, offers midscale accommodation focused on essentials and comfort at an affordable price.

Launched in August 2023 by IHG, the Garner brand is experiencing rapid growth in the midscale hotel segment, particularly in Europe, where it has already signed 58 properties out of a total of 76 worldwide:
- The first locations in Austria and the Netherlands are planned for Vienna (106 rooms) and Maastricht (165 rooms), marking the debut of Garner in these countries.
- In the UK, hotels will open in Reading (53 rooms), after renovation, and in Preston Samlesbury (80 rooms), in partnership with local players.
- In Turkey, a 126-room property is planned in Istanbul in 2025 to cater to the needs of travelers in transit near the international airport. These projects demonstrate Garner's appeal for strategic locations, offering accessible and comfortable accommodation to travelers seeking simplicity and practicality.
