S+A (Saraiva + Associados) announces the opening of the DUO Boavista Lisbon Hotel, a luxury establishment recently added to the Curio Collection by Hilton. This project, LEED Gold certified, combines the preservation of Lisbon's historic architecture with modern design.
The DUO Boavista Hotel consists of two distinct buildings, each representing an aspect of Lisbon's architecture. The first is a restored Pombaline-style building located on Rua da Boavista. It retains traditional elements such as tiled façades, thick masonry walls, and vaulted ceilings, while housing guest rooms, a pastry shop, and a lounge. The second building, facing Rua D. Luís, presents a more contemporary style with a modern lobby and bar.
The interior of the hotel combines historical and contemporary elements. The Pombaline building preserves period features such as hand-painted tiles and stucco ceilings, while the new building showcases a modern design with relief tiles and contemporary graphic patterns. A landscaped walkway connects the two buildings.
The hotel has earned LEED Gold certification thanks to its sustainable approach. Water consumption has been reduced by 45%, and energy efficiency has been improved by 26%. Furthermore, 25% of the materials used in the project are recycled, highlighting the project's commitment to sustainability.
In total, the Curio Collection by Hilton brand now boasts five hotels in Portugal, including three in Lisbon.
