Okura Prestige makes its Vietnam

The Japanese group group just announced the opening of its third property in Vietnam, The Okura Prestige Saigon. New addresses will also open in the years to come in Southeast Asia.

The address Okura Prestige Saigon will be ready to welcome its first guests in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville starting in 2020. The property will have 250 rooms, restaurants inspired by Japanese tradition, a panoramic bar, spaces dedicated to events, fitness room and also an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel will be part of a 40-floor mixed-use complex called Satra Tax Plaza, currently under construction in the center of the Vietnamese capital, not far from Independence Palace.

Today Okura Hotels & Resorts operates two addresses in Vietnam: Nikko Hanoi hotels (257 rooms) and Nikko Saigon (388 rooms). The Japanese group hopes to grow its portfolio to 100 properties, primarily on the Asian continent, by 2020. The operator confirmed its projects in several destinations: Cambodia (Okura Prestige Phnom Penh - 2019), in the Philippines (Hotel Okura Manila Bayshore - 2019), in Thailand (Hotel Nikko Bangkok - 2018), and even in Turkey (Okura Spa & Resort Cappadocia - 2017).

As of January 1, 2016, the Japanese group ranked among the fifty most important hotel operators worldwide in terms of number of rooms: according to data published by Hospitality ON, its portfolio had 74 properties representing a capacity of 22,720 rooms.
