Northern hospitality in a design hotel?

Adesign hotel without the attitude: this is Grims Grenka’s promise, the newest member of the Norwegian hotel chain, First Hotels, which is opening this fashionable haven in Oslo, Norway. The five-star, will provide such excellent service, comfort and professionalism that guests will not want to leave. 42 rooms and 24 decadent suites (many larger than 70 square metres) are designed to pamper guests with the ultimate in the Nordic hospitality, combined with a distinctly Eastern zen. The rooms have three different colour schemes: subtle greens for summer, cool blue and winter white, or indulgent red and gold. Each room is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology that one would expect from the Norwegians, with one innovative twist: taking the minibar one step further, rooms feature a Maxi Bar complete with shaker and drink recipes. Delicate Asian influences can be found in the décor in all of the rooms, but most notably with the Asian Fusion Restaurant inspired by the likes of Hakkasan in London or Buddakan in New York. A Tea and Cocktail Bar serving up organic selections, an exclusive nightclub and private cinema complete the stylish concept, along with a rooftop lounge open in the summer, where one can sip exotic cocktails while enjoying the Oslo skyline made even more magnificent by the Akershus Castle which is just minutes away.
