Tripadvisor has announced the appointment of Michael Noonan as its new Chief Financial Officer. He will replace Ernst Teunissen, who served in the role for the past seven years. The move follows the recent arrival of Matt Goldberg as CEO in July 2022.
Michael Noonan will take up his new responsibilities at Tripadvisor on 31st October. A graduate of Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, where he obtained a Master diploma in business administration, Noonan will bring nearly three decades of financial management experience to his new post.
He started his career at Bear Stearns, where he held the role of Executive Director for 10 years. In 2008, Noonan moved to J.P. Morgan and then on to NYSE Euronext as Vice-President, Head of Capital Markets. Between 2010 and 2016, he was Managing Director of RBC Capital Markets, before becoming Booking Holdings’ Senior Vice-President Finance, Head of Investor Relations. In 2020, Noonan took on the position of CFO at Noom Inc.
Former Tripadvisor CFO Ernst Teunissen is leaving the company to pursue other interests. No announcement has yet been made on who shall take over his other responsibilities as chief executive of company brands TheFork, Viator and Cruise Critic. Teunissen will remain in this position until the 1st quarter of 2023.
I would like to thank Ernst, also on behalf of our Board of Directors, for his many valuable contributions over the past seven years, and personally for the counsel he has provided through my own onboarding. His guidance, especially through the volatile pandemic period, has been key to our strong financial position. Moreover, his leadership of Viator, TheFork, and Cruise Critic, has driven strong revenue growth for these strategic businesses coming out of the pandemic.
Matt Goldberg, CEO of Tripadvisor
