The new appointment is designed to support the exponential growth of Kempinski Hotels in this region, a key market for the group.
Timur Sentuerk has a rich and varied background in the hospitality industry, starting as Back of House Manager at Claridge's London, part of the Savoy Group. He then joined Hyatt as F&B Manager at the Grand Hyatt New York before becoming Assistant Director F&B for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group in Bangkok.
In 1998, he became Executive Assistant Manager for Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi. Two years later, he moved to Latin America and joined the Ritz-Carlton Group where he held various positions. First as Executive Assistant Manager F&B, then as Hotel Manager and General Manager of several hotels in Latin America, the United States and China.
He moved to China in 2012 to take up the position of General Manager of the J Hotel Shanghai Tower, a hotel belonging to the Insterstate Hotels & Resorts group. In 2014, he was appointed Vice President of Operations for Pan Pacific Hotels Group. He remained in the Asia region for another 4 years during which time he served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Langham Hospitality Group.
It wasn't until 2021 that he returned to Europe to become Director of Human Resources at Pure Data Centers in London, a private equity backed start-up, where he was responsible for ensuring consistency and excellence in service delivery, operations and internal management process.
With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including operational and financial performance, Timur Sentuerk will bring a wealth of expertise to support Kempinski Hotels in its ambitious expansion strategy in the EMEA region. Timur knows the EMEA region well from his professional experience in the industry's largest companies.
Throughout his career, Timur Sentuerk has gained extensive operational and business leadership experience and has a strong understanding of global luxury hotel operations and stakeholder relations, driven by his tremendous passion for people. As we see more hotel openings and acquisitions in the EMEA region in the near future, Timur joins us at an important point in our journey.
