The Savoy Signature hotel group, renowned for its luxury hospitality, has announced the appointment of Roberto Santa Clara as CEO. With extensive experience in the fields of marketing, advertising and aviation, Mr. Santa Clara takes up his post with a wealth of expertise, having previously led multinationals in the aviation, tourism and consumer goods sectors.
Mr. Santa Clara's previous positions include Executive Director of the Madeira Promotion Bureau's Tourism Office until 2019. During his tenure, he succeeded in unifying the region's tourism offering and making it more attractive to a variety of audiences. Returning to the aviation sector with the ANA Group in October of the same year, he assumed the role of Director of Madeira Airport in February 2020, skilfully directing operations during the pandemic.
Mr. Savoy highlights Roberto Santa Clara's achievements, including setting up operations for budget airline Ryanair in Madeira, launching the island's first direct flight to the USA, and promoting collaborations with airlines such as Wizz Air and EasyJet.
Roberto Santa Clara officially took up his post on July 17, and now heads the Savoy Signature Executive Committee. This strategic decision aims to strengthen the management team, providing solid support for the brand's recent expansion and growth in Madeira and mainland Portugal. This decision reflects the company's firm commitment to strengthening its position in the competitive hotel market.
