
The luxury hotel has just announced the appointment of Matthias Al-Amiry as the new Managing Director of the property. He also holds the position of Regional Vice President for Southeast Asia at Kempinski Hotels Group.
In the new role, Matthias Al-Amiry will oversee Kempinski's properties in Bangkok, Jakarta and Bali as well as the future hotel and residences in Kuala Lumpur. He is also responsible for future projects in the region.
His background represents more than 30 years in the hotel industry, particularly in the Food & Beverage sector. Between 2001 and 2007, Matthias Al-Amiry held senior Food & Beverage positions at Raffles Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg and then in the Philippines. In 2009, he became General Manager of Rosewood's hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Then in 2011, the alumnus of the Heidelberg School of Hotel Management and Cornell Private University in the United States took on a management role at Raffles Hotel Beijing, China.
