
Effective February 24, Scholefield will be responsible for leading all aspects of the group’s information technology and digital strategies.
In this role, Scholefield will replace Bruce Hoffmeister who is retiring after 30 years of service with Marriott and will work in parallel under the leadership of Stephanie Linnartz, Group President, Consumer Operations, Technology & Emerging Businesses.
As for his background, Scholefield has led the technological transformations of world-leading companies for more than 30 years. Most recently, Scholefield served as Chief Information and Digital Officer at the pharmaceutical company Merck & Co., leading Merck's strategy for information technology, security and corporate growth. Prior to joining Merck, he held leadership positions in technology strategy at Nike, The Coca-Cola Company, Northern Trust Company and Ford Motor Company. He also holds a bachelor's degree in management from Florida State University and an MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
