The mayor of La Londe les Maures was elected president of ADN Tourisme, national federation of institutional tourism organisations, on 19th May 2022. The duration of his mandate is 2 years. Stéphane Villain and Christian Mourisard will support him as delegate presidents.

Mayor of the Var municipality since 2008, François de Canson is also President of the Mediterranean Porte des Maures Intercommunal Tourist Office and a regional councillor. First elected in 2015, and then re-elected in 2021, he has been Vice-President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Regional Council in charge of economic development, attractiveness, tourism and major risk prevention. He has also been President of the South of France's Regional Committee for Tourism since 2018.

During his mandate, François de Canson will seek to consolidate the place of ADN Tourisme in the national tourism landscape and to continue its actions on the major stakes of the federation (the development of employee skills, the offering of a quality and responsible service, the evolution of associated organisations, open data handling). He also confirmed his desire to position the federation in order to benefit from the big sporting events to come.

François de Canson praised the work of his predecessor, Christian Mourisard, who had led the ADN Tourisme for the last two years, a period heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Created in 2020, the presidency of the federation rotates to ensure a balanced representation of its three member colleges: communal and inter-communal, departmental and, finally, regional bodies. The election of François de Canson represents the turn of the college of regional bodies.
