Paolo Di Pietrantonio, President of the Board of Directors of the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) announced the reappointment of Liza Frulla for a five-year term.
At the head of the ITHQ since August 2015, Liza Frulla has notably continued her predecessor's efforts to have the ITHQ's founding law, unanimously adopted by the National Assembly and assented to in June 2018, amended to grant her the right to autonomously issue university degrees.
The ITHQ's change in status allowed it to create two research units: ExpériSens, the first college centre for technology transfer (CCTT) specializing in multi-sensory customer experience in the hospitality industry, and the GastronomiQc Lab, a joint research unit of the ITHQ and Université Laval that puts science at the service of Quebec gastronomy.
With the tourism industry being hit hard by the pandemic, Liza Frulla's presence on the board will be "not only reassuring for all staff, but also for the hospitality sector, which will need the creativity and perseverance of all its leaders," says the press release.
