On Wednesday, August 5th, Hilton Worldwide Holding Inc. announced the appointment of Chris Carr, SweetGreen's Chief Operating Officer, to the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining SweetGreen in May 2020, Chris Carr held various positions at Starbucks for 13 years. From 2012 to 2014, he was responsible for the brand and customer experience in 13,000 retail stores operating in the United States.

From 2014 to 2016, he was the executive vice president at Starbucks and was responsible for strategic planning, operations, market planning and sales for 6,500 licensed retail stores. 

Chris Carr also spent 18 years at ExxonMobil developing, leading and implementing retail operational strategies for its Global Fuels Marketing downstream businesses.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of REI, a trustee of Howard University, and a trustee of the University of San Diego.
