France falls from the podium of best revenues
In the ranking of international revenies, the United States (177 billion US dollars) continues to lead the race, followed by Spain (65 billion US dollars). Third in 2013, France lost its position to China, which climbed two rungs in 2014 (+10% in revenues, 57 billion US dollars). It could take over Spain's position in 2015. In fifth an sixth place, we find Macao and Italy. The United Kingdom, meanwhile is improving, shifting from ninth to seventh position thanks to the increase in value of the pound sterling.
China, leading source of tourist spending
Chinese tourists are the biggest spenders worldwide. With 28% more purchases, the country has reached 165 billion US dollars. While the two other primary emerging markets top ten ranking, the Russian Federation (-6%, in 5th place) and Brazil (+2%, in 10th place) lost their vigor, there is clear progress in developped countries. The number 2 in America saw the spending of its nationals increase by 7%. France, in sixth place, grew by 11%.
