Munich (Ville)

A major business centre, Munich is also famous for its variety of high-end retail options, and remains the gateway to the Land of Bavaria and its castles.

Munich also benefits from its international airport, a major hub that welcomed 44,6 million passengers in 2017, a +5,4% increase over 2016.

In 2018, works for the extension of the airport should start. They should include the construction of a third runway and a new central terminal building with the aim of welcoming nearly 6 million additional passengers per year.

The Munich agglomeration hosts around 10% of the total chain supply in Germany, a share that is on the rise in 2018 due to a growing hotel chain supply: +6.6% in 2017, through the addition of 1,768 rooms.
