After twelve months of renovations, the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel announced its re-opening in Montreal.

Closed in June 2016, the prestigious Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in downtown Montreal just reopened its doors after 12 months of renovations, estimated at €97 million. Guests can henceforth enjoy 500 renovated rooms (out of 950 ), as well as a number of new features, including a business campus with a multifunctional meeting space, a restaurant, a café and a bar. The renovations of the remaining rooms should be complete in December 2017.

"The project objectives have been achieved with the collaboration, expertise and hard work of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and principally two Montreal firms: Pomerleau, the general contractor, who worked closely with Sid Lee Architecture on the project," says the press release.

As of January 1, 2017, the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand ranks 76th hotel chain worldwide, with 74 hotels totaling 29,238 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
