Mobilité durable

The carbon footprint of a trip depends largely on the mode of transport used by tourists, with air travel ranking first in carbon emissions, followed by personal vehicles. To counter this and support the development of more sustainable tourism, Pierre & Vacances and 25hours Hotels offer alternative solutions to their customers.

According to ADEME, transport accounts for 57% of the greenhouse gas emissions generated by winter sports tourism. Faced with this observation, Pierre & Vacances has teamed up with the French start-up Tictactrip, a booking platform for all direct or intermodal journeys, to encourage its holidaymakers to favour public transport this winter.

Of the 58 mountain residences operated by the group, 39 in 17 resorts are accessible by train, including Méribel, Chamonix and La Plagne. Thanks to Tictactrip, Pierre & Vacances customers can book their entire journey on a single platform by combining various modes of transport. Thus, a trip combining a train and a shuttle operated by different companies can be booked in a single payment.

For its part, 25hours Hotels has developed a partnership with SHARE NOW, one of Europe's leading and pioneering car-sharing companies in Germany and Austria. Guests can now access SHARE NOW's shared mobility in Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. Thus, the offer, which has already been available to travellers since September 2021 in the Rhineland and Frankfurt, is being extended to four more cities.

This partnership allows the hotel operator's customers to benefit from more sustainable mobility, as all hotels are located in the SHARE NOW business area. This means that the shared cars can be reached within minutes, parking in the respective business area is free of charge and the cost of fuel or charging is also included.

Our aim is to encourage more and more people to switch to car-sharing, to relieve cities of traffic and parking pressure. The partnership with 25hours hotels is an important step in this direction, as it gives travellers even easier access to shared mobility. We are thus reaching an even wider target group to further advance the mobility turnaround.

In addition, 25hours Hotels properties have been part of the SHARE NOW loyalty programme since December 2021. As a result, users automatically receive points for each rental and can unlock numerous rewards per level. For example, SHARE NOW users with Blue and Silver status receive a 15% discount on 25hours Hotels bookings, Gold and Diamond users even receive a 20% discount.
