TUI Group has announced that they will postpone the launch of TUI River Cruises until 26 November. The company announced a year ago that would strengthen its presence in this segment with the purchase of three ships and could launch during summer 2020.
Due to the latest communication from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, TUI has decided to suspend all activities until 14 May and all cruise departures from Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson Cruises) until 31 May. As for TUI River Cruises, he points out that he had to make the "difficult decision to postpone the launch" until the end of November.
Last April, TUI Group had acquired three river cruise ships with which it would begin operating 19 itineraries on the rivers of Europe (Danube, Rhine, Maine and Moselle).
This is an entire industry which, like the airline sector, is facing numerous cancellations, refunds or credit notes to be claimed at a later date.
