Cycle tourism has been on a roll in France in recent years. As part of the trend towards slow tourism and roaming, more and more people are taking up the sport. Today, more than half of all households are equipped with at least one bicycle, and the arrival of the VAE has only strengthened this growing popularity. A real financial windfall for destination France, with a market now worth over €4 billion. A boom that is now prompting the country to adopt a national cycle tourism strategy, with the aim of taking over from Germany as the best European destination for cycle tourism.
