The group has unveiled its annual results as well as its outlook for the year 2018.
"Air France-KLM closed the year 2017 with solid results in a buoyant economic environment," said Jean-Marc Janaillac, CEO of Air France-KLM.
The group has traffic of nearly 99 million passengers, or + 5.6% compared to the year 2016. The operating result (1,488 million euros) increased by 41.8% compared to 2016.
Air France-KLM also reduced its net debt by 2 billion euros.
With a year 2017 marked by the strengthening and expansion of the network of alliances and the launch of Joon, Jean-Marc Janaillac hopes to continue to achieve encouraging results: "In early 2018, in a context of rising oil prices and ever more intense competition, we will continue the offensive, work on our competitiveness and reduce our unit costs and capitalize on the achievements of 2017 to maintain a profitable growth momentum. "
On the organizational side, an Air France-KLM Strategy and Innovation Department has been created. This department will be responsible for defining and implementing strategy, customer needs analysis, market trends, new technologies and innovation. At the head of the division is Sonia Barrière, Deputy General Manager, Strategy and Innovation of Air France KLM.
Anne-Sophie Le Lay, Legal Director of Groupe Renault, is preparing for the position of Secretary General of Air France-KLM Group and Air France.
